Story
This Winter, The Avenue Uniting Church Project Team is braving the cold overnight as part of the Mission Australia Winter Sleepout and helping to raise vital funds to help Australians in need. We would greatly appreacite if you could sponsor us in any capacity. This is a cause that we all strongly believe in supporting.
There are over 105,000 men, women and children who are homeless tonight. With no home to go to, men, women and children sleep on friends’ lounges, in cheap motels and parks, and in short-stay crisis accommodation. Sadly, more than 60% of children accommodated by homeless services in Australia have witnessed or been victims of domestic or family violence. Homelessness is a complex issue with no simple solution.
Any and all donations can help Mission Australia raise invaluable funds to help people address the underlying causes of their homelessness, support them as they regain their independence, and, overall, help them to get back on their feet.
