Story
This Winter (or Autumn if we're technical!!), our Aberfeldie Youth & Young Adults will be sleeping out as part of the Mission Australia Winter Sleepout. We will be braving the cold for one night on Friday May 6th 2016 in order to raise key funds for those in need. We would love you to donate whatever you can afford to help us with this important cause. We have set ourselves a group target of $848, which represents the cost it takes to house an entire family over the winter period.
There are over 105,000 men, women and children who are homeless tonight. And it’s not as simple as you may think. Did you know that more than 60 per cent of children accommodated by homeless services in Australia have witnessed or been victims of domestic or family violence?
With no home to go to mothers with their children sleep on friends’ lounges, in cheap motels and parks, and in short-stay crisis accommodation.
By participating you can help Mission Australia raise vital funds to help people address the underlying causes of their homelessness, support them as they regain their independence, and help them to get back on their feet.
